Stringing our guitars, stringing our banjos we are the rockin' commandos. Singing that chorus, get me to the bridge, there ain't no pussies on Heartbreak ridge. Got no time to take in the scenery, too busy double checking the machinery. Shine them boots, eat that grub. Bag it, tag it, get it to the pub. Women come and women go, my true love is a rock n roll. I break more hearts than I break strings, I've played for fools and I've played for kings. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4, get your ass on the dance floor. 5 and 6 and 7 and 8, we'll rock your soul from 8 till late. Tear it down, put it in the truck, count that money if we made a good buck. Mission over better get some rest, knowing that we done our best. My heart is hard and my eyes are cold, my back is strong and my soul is sold, To the highest bidder on the road of gold. When you come across me you better show or fold. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4, cowboy boogie, gimme some more. 5 and 6 and 7 and 8, minstrel, vaudeville, sincopate. Well I don't know but I been told, Rounders' music is mighty old. From Hear Dem Bells to Ragtime Joe, honky tonk and rock n roll. There's Al Quiffs he's a bassinator, got a heart like a fridgerator. Slapping like he's squashin' flies on a wall, machine gun rhythm rockin ' that hall. Cowboy Ro could sing the birds from the trees, or shout like a preacher down on his knees. Swingin' that guitar like an M16, he's the best damn stylist you ever seen. I'm gonna hump my heavy load, maybe I'll see you down the road. Got no time to hang around, I start runnin' when I hit the ground.

I've heard your troubles now I'll tell you mine, I love a woman who's the jealous kind. Some are flattered, some really don't mind, but I got married I didn't go blind. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Oh lord deliver me, she won't believe me. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. I went to the doctor with an ingrown toenail, just so happens my doctor's a female. I got home in awful pain and all she says "Is she prettier than me?" I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Oh lord deliver me, she won't believe me. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. I went to the school to pick up the kids, just like everybody else did. When I got home she had that look in her eye "What are all the other mothers like?" I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Oh lord deliver me, she won't believe me. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Will I ever get out of this relationship alive, will have to wear blinkers when I drive. I'm tired of only talking about guys, oh and our babysitter is 85. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Cops pulled me over and it was a drag, policewoman got me to blow into a bag. It was all cool, I was on my way until I was accused of flirting with the fuzz. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Oh lord deliver me, she won't believe me. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Me and an old ex went out on a date, we had a few drinks, it was getting pretty late. We stayed out the whole night long, this is where I finish my song. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman. Oh lord deliver me, she won't believe me. I got a jealous woman, I got a jealous woman.

The moon was a shinin', and the birds were a sleepin', When I sang to you my own devotional song. I was strummin' on my banjo, at your second floor window, When I see somebody else come along. When your new boy came around well my heart hit the ground. I had planned to spend my whole life with you. How I wish you'd change your mind, and not leave your poor man behind. Won't you come back to the one who loves you true. Well our love was so fine, we had a very nice time. But now I just don't know what to do. I'm a weepin' and a cryin' and the lord knows I'm trying, But I jussa can'ta getta over you. Well my mamma told me so, that it's better to just let go. But letting go is very hard to do. And when I see you hand in hand, with your new fancy man, We I just can't help but feel so awfully blue. Just remember our romance, and baby give it one more chance. We'll pick up we're we left off, oh please do.

Alien Nation 02:44
As we sat on our porches under the setting, summer sun. Flying saucers filled our skies, rained fire down on our homes. Swiftly disintegrating those who chose to run. The submissive few, were gladly beamed aboard. Plasma weaponry Thrust into shaking hands Our species now a tool A crucial part of a bloody plan A desert planet of stone and sand native creatures swept from this land now as soldiers and as slaves we stand in an alien nation built by human hands though some still serve their bug-faced overlords the strays like us live out our days in broken down shacks by dirt roads

I heard you mumble through your apple crumble as you asked to kindly see the bill Upon you I fixed my eyes as you paid for your peice of pie, and my heart had never soared quite so high But before I had the chance to pursue our sweet romance you had settled your check and dashed out the front door Frozen to my seat, with a tingle in my feet, I watched a solitary tear drop to the floor. So now I wait and see each day, at KC Peaches cafe If the lady of my dreams, she will return. I've tried every tart and cake, every coffee, tea and bake. Hoping to find the one for which I yearn. The woman of my dreams, it seems has not been seen or heard from, By any of the staff old or new. But still I sit, I'll never quit, Not until I catch, at least one more fleeting glimpse of you. I've tried the morning shift, the afternoon as well, I've even stayed past closing just to see But as I feared it would apear, you surely are not from here, as if you we're you'd surely have bumped into me. Unless of course, by unfair fate, we've simply passed each other by, and always looked the other way, and never caught the eye. Or perhaps you see me here, and avoid the place because, and when I think this thought I begin to cry. I'd given up all hope, it was one year to the day, I ordered apple crumble like you did Then my heart stopped when I saw you there, I sat across but couldn't speak, that was when with a giggle you said You ordered apple crumble, my mother loved it so, sadly my folks have passed away I travel here once a year, on their anniversary, it was here where they first met, this very day. So now I sit and eat each day at KC Peaches cafe With the gal of my dreams by my side We've had every tart and cake, every coffee tea and bake So if at first you don't succeed try and try We'll take our sweet deserts together by and by.

His mother died while giving birth, his daddy ran away. He was raised by renegade soldiers, brought up the warrior way. The cemetary's full of men who tried to face him down, But if you reach to slap that leather, you won't even hear the round. You'll be dead before you hit the ground. He was a rough and ready, tough and hard, dandy handsome hunk. A long, tall gunslinger, full of cowboy spunk. He chewed tobacco and before the juice hit the spitoon he said: "Your soul's already in hell friend and you'll be joining it soon..." Women had no power on him for he was bold and gay, Children stopped their playing, and the men got outta his way. He admired no one, and his respect you had to earn. He lived by his motto that many men would learn. Like that rowdy bunch who crossed him on that dusty street at noon, "Your soul's already in hell friend and you'll be joining it soon..." Some ranchers once hired him for his skills as a pistolero, To hunt down some rascals rustling cattle out in Reno. They was good with knives and guns, a mean and murdering gang. They was the rapeinest, theivenest bunch of coyotes this side of the Rio Grande. Their leader was a half-crazed Apache with eyes like rollin' dice. He could knife a man at a hundred feet, his heart was made of ice. Their career was ended when they heard these words as they walk out that salloon, "Your soul's already in hell friend and you'll be joining it soon..."

Last week God came to my house, And he sold me a purty Persian mat Since then things been looking brighter And it compliments the furnishings in my flat I got a raise, nearly doubling my pay The girls been giving me the eye The things I used to worry bout every single day Felt like they're bout a million miles, away But then God pulled the rug from under me Now I'm lying flat on my back The lord giveth and the lord taketh away I wish the lord with put the rug back Things sure look different, when looking up from below I scraped the bottom of the barrel so hard, that I made a hole Just big enough to squeeze through, and hide away my shame. I done cursed the lord almighty, but I know I'm the one to blame If Icarus had a second chance he wouldn't have soared so high. And if Romeo could do it all again He wouldn't kiss those lips that night And God in his glory gave me another chance, This time I will live humbly no matter my circumstance.

Way back in 1969, in another place in another time I'll tell you about a friend of mine, Neil was his name, making merry was his game He didn't have no tv, he lived up on the hill he had no way of knowing what history had been made With a hope and a skip and one giant leap he jumped over that swamp with the liquor from his still. He was the first man on the moonshine, howling at the moon he didn't realize there was a man standing up there people come from all around to tell him the great news he was the first man on the moonshine, howling at that big ol' moon He was among a pack of wolves howling like a fool all of them was smiling and yodelling in tune he didn't know a man and machine was up there on the moon his hair was long, his shirt was torn and arm in arm they sang Once when neil was drafted, sent to fight in Vietnam he made moonshine from rice and drank it from a rusty can that time he sang a very different song up a tree and arm in arm with the Viet Cong who smiled and gaily sang along up to the great big moon He was the first man on the moonshine, howling at the moon he didn't realize there was a man standing up there people come from all around to tell him the great news he was the first man on the moonshine, howling at that big ol' moon Now Neil is old and frail and living in a home the nurses have him well behaved, his hair is clean and combed but when the moon is shining bright he answers to the call he jumps out with a bottle of medical alcohol and you can see him after dark with the teenagers in the local park hand in hand, howling at the sky He was the first man on the moonshine, howling at the moon the nurses didn't know where poor old Neil had gone he was grinning and singing and laughing like a loon he was the first man on the moonshine, howling at that big ol' moon

Well I went to the doctor, with a shake in my leg. Started movin' my hip, this is what he said. "Lord almighty, glory be, son, you're turnin' into Elvis" And I said hubba hubba hubba hubba... Oh lord, lord have mercy. Hubba hubba hubba hubba - ooohh Takin' out the trash, take the kids to school. All of a sudden, I start actin' real cool. Lord almighty, glory be I'm a turnin' into Elvis. I'm walkin' the dog, gettin' the mail. Mowin' the lawn, I'm as fat a whale. Lord almighty, glory be I'm a turnin' into Elvis. Drive the wife to the club, goin' to the pub. Wheelin' a pram, wham-bam-a-lam. Lord almighty, glory be I'm a turnin' into Elvis. Drivin' a truck, roastin' a duck. Dancing real wild, karate style. Lord almighty, glory be I'm a turnin' into Elvis.

Way back before the dawn of history there lived a wild, stone-age, Amazon queen She drove that tribe totally wild when she standed on a rock and started slappin' her thigh She did the ooga-booga boogie She did the stone-age boogie She did the ooga-booga boogie She was a rock 'n' roll, stone-age, boogie woogie, teenage queen All the men folk come from miles around banging their clubs in a rythm on the ground A volcano blows with a monsterous sound and the pterodactyls are flyin' all around They did the ooga-booga boogie They did the stone-age boogie They did the ooga-booga boogie She was a rock 'n' roll, stone-age, boogie woogie, teenage queen When she shrieks her terrible call out from the sea all the fishes crawl Down come the apes, swingin' from the trees and the women all come crawlin' on their hands and knees She's a green eyed baby with a saber-tooth smile She drives them hairy cavemen wild In her rock queendom there is always peace 'cause every week they sacrifice a priest they celebrate with a dinosaur feast and the jungle rythms never cease When thunder claps in the ashen sky and the yellow moon is shinin' bright she lifts her hands to call on the night all the animals run and the birds take flight They did the ooga-booga boogie They did the stone-age boogie They did the ooga-booga boogie She was a rock 'n' roll, stone-age, boogie woogie, teenage queen

I left home for the city with my guitar in my hand to play some shows and radio engagements with my band I brought money for expenses while I was on the road but every dollar I try to spend I hear the same old thing "But, sir. Here your money's no good." What do you mean my money's no good? Thems is fightin' words What do you mean my money's no good? My money's as good as yers Don't you know money's hard to get and I haven't spent a penny yet I pay my way just like I should but they keep saying my money's no good I play a little guitar and a little fiddle too as time went on I wrote some songs that everybody knew now it's nice when people know you and treat you with regard but if I can't spend the money I make, what the hell am I working for? Down home where I come from money don't grow on trees there's men digging ditches, women scrubbing on their knees they get so little pay, they pay so high a rent I feel so dog-gone awful that I can't even spend a cent I stayed over night in a hotel to wash my hands and face the bed was too soft so I slept on the floor but over all it was a very nice place I pulled out my wallet to pay that concierge he tells me that my money's no good, well here we go again.

Better take your switch-blade, there may just be a fight there's blood in the water, beneath the moonlight down in the Everglades them gators like to bite This water's not safe for swimmin' look out for the swamp women There's treasure to be found but you may have to die a man ain't safe with them women close by but they sure good looking and that you can't deny This water's not safe for swimmin' look out for the swamp women Man is good meat for the creatures by the water big, tasty, hunky man lead to the slaughter god had a son but the devil had a daughter This water's not safe for swimmin' look out for the swamp women

There once was a man who had it all, at least he thought he did. Beautiful wife, great big house and two little darlin kids. But when the draft come around to take his young brother, he volunteered to take his place. He kissed his wife and his two purty kids right there on their tear soaked face. Now he sleeps on unfamiliar pillows. In a place so far from home. Now he weeps for the poor newly widdowed. Bound to spend their remaining nights alone. The first few weeks were a pretty rough, that boot camp took it's toll. They beat that man right into shape and they done tored out his soul. They put him in a big old boat with a few dozen hudred more. And with a slap on the back and a big heavy pack they sent him off to war. He'd never seen a man die before, not least by his own hand. But after six weeks of combat, well lets just say, he were'nt the same ol' man. One morning out on recon duty, he heard a whisle by his ear. He looked right down to blood red shirt, it was the last thing that he'd hear. Now he sleep down beneath the willows. In that graveyard not so far from home. Now they weep for our forgotten hero. Up in heaven upon a golden throne
